DESCRIPTION:Join Seattle DSA members and others – all are welcome! – to spread the word about the upcoming Seattle Rally to Defend Abortion Rights as part of the Women’s March Weekend of Action. We’ll be meeting up at 7pm\, Wednesday\, in front of the Capitol Hill Light Rail Station on Broadway & John.  \nWith GOP Senator Lindsey Graham introducing a NATIONAL ABORTION BAN bill in the US Senate\, its clear the Right and their representatives won’t stop until they’ve stripped everyone of reproductive rights across the entire country.  Just recently\, 195 GOP Representatives voted against codifying access to contraception into federal law.  We need to take lessons from how abortion rights were won in the first place – a mass movement willing to escalate its tactics to include workplace actions and striking. \nLet’s get the word out!

Hosting a ballot printing station is a bit higher stakes than normal tabling\, so to ensure everyone’s on the same page\, please RSVP so we can make sure you’re up to date on KC Elections’ guidelines on ballot printing stations beforehand. We’ll be coordinating with the SDSA canvass in Capitol Hill at the same time\, so you may have an opportunity to knock doors as well (please wear walking shoes!). \nNeed a refresher on I-135? \n\nPublicly owned forever and governed by renters\, community members\, labor\, and subject matter professionals.\nMixture of income levels from very low to moderate income\, with permanently affordable rents (less than 30% monthly income) independent of rental market.\nRestorative conflict resolution prior to the start of any eviction procedures\, and no evictions based on changes to household income.\nBuilt Union\, Built Green to Passive House standards.\nShould use a lottery-based\, minimal barrier\, no-fee or background check application process which doesn’t discriminate based on immigration status.\nShould include daycares\, communal kitchens and/or other community resources\n\nIf that gets you hyped\, help make it happen! \nRSVP Here!
