The murder in broad daylight of George Floyd has triggered massive popular protest worldwide, not because it is a single event, but because of the terror of racism that Black people have faced in this country since it was founded. The response from the political establishment includes curfews and mobilizations of the National Guard, all in an attempt to maintain “order”. As democratic socialists how can we support this historic uprising? How can we help build multi-racial coalitions to fight for defunding the police and justice for all?
