2 weeks into the uprising and the movement is still going strong.  This past weekend hundreds of thousands took to the streets, this weekend promises more of the same.  The demand to defund the police has gained unprecedented momentum and, according to recent polls, 70% of Americans say there needs to be serious police reforms and by a margin of 2-1 support the protests.  But how can we win this demand? What role can DSA play? And more broadly, what is the role of socialists? The ruling class is currently on its heels and are forced to accept reforms and they will try to divide the movement and stamp it out.  One way they may try to divide the movement is over the demand being raised by some in the movement of abolishing the police.  Should DSA support this demand?
