As long as there have been police, there has been police brutality, but the death of Trayvon Martin in 2012 and subsequent founding of the Black Lives Matter movement the following year served as an eye opener to many on just how deep the problem runs. Now, in the age of Coronavirus, we’re witnessing an even starker contrast in the undeniable reality of how police approach communities of color.
What is the true role of the police? What would a society without the police look like?
