In the wake of COVID and the economic catastrophe for working people, Amazon Warehouse workers in the South are taking on the fiercely anti-union Amazon behemoth to unionize and teachers and support staff are fighting for a safe return to classrooms for both students and staff across the country in the face of remorseless opposition from school district administrators and politicians. What can we learn from these struggles? Why are unions important? Why has there been a low number of labor struggles over the past period? How should socialists engage with/in the labor movement and union struggles?
Join District 3 members to discuss these important labor battles! We’ll also be discussing the housing fight SDSA is involved in and the Kshama Sawant Solidarty Campaign against the right-wing recall effort.
