Join northeast Seattle comrades Thursday 11/3, 6:30 at Urban Luxe Cafe for a discussion of âUnderstanding what sustainability is not â and what it isâ . The article explains that âEcologically sustainable developmentâ, adopted by the UN WCED and other institutions as a guiding principle, is impossible to implement. Instead “sustainable development” provides psychological comfort, maintains the status quo of neoliberal capitalism, and provides rewarding employment for the professional class. The article convincingly promotes sustainable eco-socialism on âspaceshipâ Earth through relational application of the formula of “from each according to their ability to each according to their need”.
