Join us 10/24 at Armistice Coffee Roosevelt to discuss articles relating to the passage of the Build Public Renewals Act (BPRA) by the New York state legislature in May 2023. The BPRA mandates that the publicly owned New York Power Authority develop, own and operate renewable energy projects, and does so in the interests of working people. The articles are “New York Socialists Won Big On Climate. How Did It Happen?” and “The Next Front in Climate Activism Is De-Privatizing Utilities“.
We will also talk about starting to read another book, so come on by.
Our discussions seek to inform strategies for winning a democratic socialist society that thrives ecologically. You don’t have to live in District 4 or 5, and you can feel free to join the conversation even if you haven’t had time to read. All are welcome!
