While together we breathe a collective sigh of relief over Trump’s departure, we also know that these crises pre-date Trump and that the very conditions that led to the rise of Trumpism remain completely intact: massive wealth inequality, corporate money dominating our political system, mass incarceration, low-wage jobs, and a wholly inadequate private healthcare system that leaves 40 million uninsured. Many of these policies were created or expanded under the Obama/Biden administration, including the deportation of 2.7 million people.
