District 4 Planning Meeting

Instead of the more informal meet-ups we’ve been having recently, this month we are going to discuss a couple potential projects that our district group could work on:
1. Attending Alex Pedersen’s Virtual Budget Town Hall on Thursday, October 8th. If there’s interest in collaborating on this, we can work together to prepare statements expressing our support for defunding SPD and our disappointment at Pedersen’s failure to take meaningful action on this. Even if we know he’s unlikely to budge, we have to keep the pressure on. We can also use this as an opportunity to raise awareness in our district about Pedersen’s lack of action.
2. It does not appear that we have the capacity to host our own townhall, but DSA will be hosting town halls about defunding SPD in D1, D2, D3, and D6. We can discuss how we can support our fellow districts to make these townhalls a success!

This event is open to DSA members from other districts and anyone curious about DSA.

District 4 is roughly U District, Eastlake, Fremont, Wallingford, Roosevelt, Ravenna, Bryant, Laurelhurst, Sand Point, View Ridge, and Wedgwood.
