House on Fire: a Demonstration for Climate Justice

This upcoming Monday, December 16th, Sunrise is planning a powerful action aimed at Washington State’s Senators Cantwell and Murray. The march starts at 10:30am at Occidental Square, and arrives at the Federal Building at 11am.
This is the Sunrise Movement’s third visit to the Senators’ offices. The Senators still haven’t told them why they won’t support the Green New Deal! Washington youth are showing our senators what their inaction is taking away from us, now and in the future. Bring charred and burned diplomas, photographs, and other items of personal significance to represent cherished things that climate change has or will destroy. In order to make this powerful narrative a success, Sunrise is seeking large numbers, solidarity, and support from our adult allies!
Let’s show our young climate activists the solidarity that our elected officials do not.
