Rock Out For Rojava fundraiser show

Whoever said we can’t sing and dance while building the revolution?

Join comrades for an evening fundraising event as we help raise funds for Heyva Sor a Kurd (the Kurdish Red Crescent) in response to the escalating situation in North and East Syria, an area commonly referred to as Rojava.

Beginning soon after the Arab Spring that sparked off in 2011, the democratic, pluralistic, polyethnic, and feminist political project known as the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES) has fought to defend itself and its radical vision for the region on multiple fronts. Humanitarian groups like Heyva Sor a Kurd continue to provide essential services in war-torn Rojava, more so now with the fall of Bashar al-Assad from power and increasing military aggression from forces aligned with Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

• Location is Southside Commons (3518 S Edmunds St), doors open at 5:30pm.
• Event is all ages. Respect each other and the space.
• Pay-what-you-can cover at the door.
• Mask or a negative COVID test result required.
