“Set in an alternate socialist USA which, despite its peaceful Leftist revolution, has continued to fail working class women, people of color and sexual minorities, Born in Flames is a startlingly prescient documentary-style fiction film, depicting the labor of marginalized communities, and their organization and rebellion against oppressive forces.”

This 1983 independent film, directed by Lizzie Borden, is presented by Seattle DSA’s Labor Working Group in commemoration of International Women’s Day. Admission is free, concessions are available, and a suggested $10 donation will go to Northwest Abortion Access Fund.
