Eat the rich! (and also chips, dips, hot diggity dogs, fruits and what is sure to be a fine spread!)
Comrades, fellow travelers and families are invited to eat, play and be merry at the 2nd annual Seattle DSA Picnic. Life can get pretty busy when you’re simultaneously working to survive under capitalism and working to advance socialism. Let’s take a break together and break some bread together between the trees at Seward Park. Seward Park is home to eagles’ nests, old growth forest, and a beach not far from our picnic area.
Show up 15 minutes early to help set up! And please stay to help clean up!
Lawn games, acoustic/non-amplified instruments, board/card games suitable for parks (no gambling) are welcome and encouraged.
Pleasse note: alcoholic drinks and marijuana are prohibited at Seattle Parks. Electricity is not available.
COST: FREE // bring a labeled dish or non-alcoholic drinks if you’re able — no one will be turned away
Seward Park Picnic Spot #3 has a shelter, but most of the picnic tables are located outdoors. The area is paved and reached via pedestrian pathway. Restroom details have not yet been confirmed. A variety of food will be available (veggie / vegan / gluten-free / etc).
-Parking: Public lot in Seward Park nearby, with ~3 accessible parking spaces — carpooling recommended on a Saturday.
-Link: Columbia City is the closest light rail stop, but is still about 2 mi. west.
#50 stops one block west of Seward Park.
#7 stops ~.6 miles west (14 minute walk)
