Should DSA endorse Biden? & Are we heading for a 2nd Great Depression? (and Suspend the Rent! COVID19 Organizing) Next District 3 Mtg

As COVID19 tightens its grip on society, global stock markets have collapsed by 30%. Unemployment is soaring, 16 million in the last 3 weeks, and threatens to crest double digits, as high as 20% according to Goldman Sachs. 

We don’t know what the full impact will be but what we do know is, like the last crisis, this will come down to who pays for the crisis, working people or big business.

Should DSA endorse Biden? Are we headed towards a second Great Depression? How did we get here? We know that capitalism is to blame, but how exactly?  How are profits made? Who are the ruling class? And the working class? What’s the role of the state in all this? And how would socialism be any different? 

We’ll also be discussing next steps in the Suspend the Rent! Campaign to pressure Gov. Inslee to decree and rent suspension/forgiveness.
