Socialists into City Hall!

January 29, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

How Can We Build the Movement in the 2019 Elections?

Shaun Scott – DSA Member & DSA-Endorsed 2019 Candidate for D4

Councilmember Kshama Sawant – Socialist Alternative Member & 2019 Candidate for D3

Come hear them make the case for how to build the movement with their campaigns.
Jeff Bezos has a vision for Seattle: backroom deals that get Amazon and other big corporations out of shouldering any of the burden of running this city. His vision means not only desperately underfunded programs, but further increases in regressive sales taxes, high car registration fees, and property taxes that bleed working class Seattlites dry. Socialists have a different idea of what Seattle should look like. How can working class people use the 2019 Seattle City Council elections to build grassroots movements to tax big business and fight for basic needs like publicly owned housing and world class, free mass transit? How can we build support for fundamental socialist change? Come hear what strategies socialist candidates are putting forward to build our movement in 2019!
