Why capitalism needs ICE, violence, and fear of immigrants – August Queer and Feminist Caucus Meeting

August 10, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us August 10 for a discussion on borders, abolishing ICE, family separation, “the Squad”, and how this country’s heartless border enforcement is incentivized by capitalism and how we can organize against it.

If you’re able to, check out this very readable article before the meeting: https://www.leftvoice.org/borders-and-capitalism-a-socialist-perspective, with special attention on the “Why Capitalism Needs Borders” section. Even if you don’t have time to read the article, we’d love to see you on August 10!

This is part of an ongoing series of political discussions organized by the Seattle DSA Queer and Feminist Caucus.

We will also have updates on developing a Code of Conduct and will be electing co-chairs of the caucus.
