After quite a bit of deliberation, the organizers of the End Trans Detention Solidarity Day have decided to move this gathering online! The webinar is titled: How’s it all connected? COVID-19, Shutdown NWDC, & End Trans Detention. Our assessment is that the risks of gathering in person right now are too high, and we want to lean into our collective responsibility to reduce the spread of COVID-19 while still showing up to #ShutdownNWDC and #EndTransDetention.
For that reason, we are still planning to gather– but we’ll be doing it online! Call in information will be sent to everyone who registered using the RSVP link above. You can call in using a phone, or join via the internet on a smart phone or computer.
During the webinar, you can expect updates on the following:
*Coronavirus & NWDC: What we know and what we are demanding
*What’s happening with the campaign to release all the trans women who were transferred to NWDC
*Why are the struggles to #EndTransDetention, address Coronavirus, and #ShutdownNWDC linked?
We’ll have speakers from Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement, Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network, and La Resistencia online on Sunday March 15 from 12:30-2:30 pm.

Special thanks to DSA Seattle, DSA Tacoma, WAISN, Familia and La Resistencia for all the original planning for this event. Our hope is to find a time to reschedule an in person version of this solidarity day once it is deemed safer to do so!
