President-elect Biden has made clear from the moment he was elected that he plans to oversee a neoliberal, racist, business-as-usual agenda during his term. From his appointment of corporate lobbyists like Tom Vilsack, a dairy/ago-industry exec, to vehemently underscoring how he will not use executive action to pass a progressive agenda, it’s clear that Biden is more interested in punching left than providing a way forward to the millions of people struggling right now.
But there’s not room for a honeymoon period for Biden. If we let this do-nothing agenda go unchallenged, we can be certain we will be facing a Trump 2.0 situation in four years, no matter how much the ruling establishment plays “resistance” now amidst the backdrop of public outrage at right-wing attacks.
That’s why it’s vital the left comes together on Day 1 of Biden’s administration to get organized to build an anti-racist working-class alternative. We demand:
- COVID Relief Now! $2000/month & Medicare for All
- A Green New Deal & Federal Jobs Guarantee
- Defund the Police & Reinvest in BIPOC Communities!
- End Deportations & Abolish ICE!
- Cancel ALL Student Debt
- Abolish the Electoral College; End Gerrymandering; Votes for the Incarcerated!
- No Racist Patriot Act 2.0
- Protect Workers’ Rights: Pass the PRO Act
