The August 3rd primaries is fast approaching, and Nikkita Oliver is in a strong position to advance to the general election. They have a raft of endorsements from labor to community organizations and have fielded an impressive army of volunteers to doorknock and host community events.
And it’s paying off big time – according to a recent poll Nikkita Oliver has twice the support of their nearest opponent, 26% to Sara Nelson’s 12%. However, with 50% of those polled unsure who they will vote for there’s plenty of work that still needs to be done. And we can help: Join a doorknock! Talk to a neighbor! Vote!
Join District 3 DSA members this Thursday to discuss Nikkita Olivers platform and what we can do to help in the final days. We’ll also discuss why socialists run for office, whats the role of socialists when elected, how we can hold them accountable to the community/movements that elect them, and what the role of DSA is in electing socialists, and more!
We’ll also discuss the extreme weather driven by the climate crisis that is causing havoc and death across the globe.
