From Buffalo to Seattle: Starbucks Workers Push to Unionize – How can SDSA help? Next District 3 Meeting

Since the first Buffalo NY Starbucks store voted to unionize last December, Starbucks workers across the country have announced elections to form unions at nearly a dozen stores, with at least one in Seattle – in District 3 – announcing.  While the number of stores at this stage are a small fraction of the over 8000 Starbucks across the country, this is an important and exciting battle against one of the biggest corporations in the US that can inspire other workers to take action and points to a growing radicalization among a layer of working people and youth. Join District 3 members to discuss the unionization efforts nationally and locally, what the workers are demanding, the potential role of socialists in these campaigns, and how we in District 3 and Seattle DSA can support their efforts.
