Join Democratic Socialists of America – Boycott War Profiteers and Kaibigan–FFPS for an evening of solidarity and education at our screening of ‘My Friend the Terrorist’. A love story, the film traces the lives and romance of revolutionary leaders Jose Maria Sison and his wife Julie de Lima, as well as the movement for a just, socialist society in the Philippines they helped found. We’ll follow up the screening with a discussion focusing on the ties between the international struggle for liberation from the Philippines to Gaza.
This showing is a pay what you can fundraiser to support organizers from Washington state who visited the Philippines to document electoral and human rights violations on the International Observers Mission. The group is fundraising to make up for costs of travel and lodging, please consider supporting them so they can continue fighting in solidarity with the Filipino people.
