SDSA film screening: The Murder of Fred Hampton

February 19, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

$5

Seattle DSA is proud to a host a screening of the documentary film, The Murder of Fred Hampton. The film documents the 1969 assassination of Hampton, the leader of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party, at the hands of the Chicago Police Department and the FBI. You can read more about the film here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Murder_of_Fred_Hampton

You do not need to be a Seattle DSA member to attend the screening. The event is free AND there will be free popcorn, but we do ask for a suggested donation of $5 to offset the cost of the theater rental. We hope you can join us!

Update: due to an unforeseen personal emergency, special guest Elmer Dixon will be unable to attend. Another co-founding member of the Seattle chapter of the Black Panther Party will be attending in his stead. You can read more about Elmer here: http://depts.washington.edu/civilr/elmer_dixon.htm

Note about accessibility: The theater has a ramp but there are two small steps at the entrance. Please email [email protected] if you are someone who uses a wheelchair or other mobility device.

Due to high interest, we believe this event may sell out. Please arrive early to claim a seat – doors open at 6:30pm. Unfortunately, tickets cannot be purchased ahead of time. The theater space can accommodate about 65 people.
