Join District 6 members for a special Zoom/phone meeting this MONDAY to discuss the broadening social, economic, and political impact of the coronavirus and what we can do as DSA in our communities and/or city to address the economic and social crisis for working people.

Mayor Durkan, under pressure from Socialist Councilmember Kshama Sawant and Councilmember Tammy Morales, recently passed a moratorium on evictions. And nope Inslee has announced a month long statewide moratorium! This is the same Mayor Durkan who raked in massive campaign contributions in 2017 from the biggest developers and landlords in the city. This points to a potential opportunity to force big business to shoulder the burden rather than working people through bold demands, it may be like pushing on an open door.

What demands can DSA make to further alleviate the burden on working people and the poor who will be forced to pay for this crisis through layoffs, lost wages, and healthcare costs?  What other initiatives can DSA take to help working people self-organize relief efforts in our communities?
