DSA is organizing a standout/speakout/banner drop in Columbia City this Wed. Jan 20, Inauguration Day, from 4-6pm under the banner “Build the Left to Fight the Far Right”. This is part of the No Honeymoon for Biden campaign that we launched out of the December membership meeting. We’ll be raising demands for COVID relief, Medicare for All, defunding the police, a Green New Deal & Federal jobs guarantee, and a lot more.
It’s an opportunity to connect with ordinary people who are wondering how do we counter the rise of Trumpism and the far right, and to put forward the need for the left to be independently organized from the liberal establishment which will seek to cover up for Biden–ignoring the fact that we all know that business as usual means Trump 2.0 in four years.
We have two teams going out postering Saturday at 11am to help get the word out. The southend team is meeting at Olympia Coffee (outside) in Columbia City.
